I finally saw Lee Ross' film HARD MEN last week, on video. It's a film about three gangsters (for want of a better word), set in London. Lee is excellent, in probably his best film role to date. He is in virtually every scene, unlike his few scenes in SECRETS AND LIES. He plays a drug addicted young hot head prone to sudden acts of cruel violence ! He is also very, very funny and delivers some hilarious dialogue. The film is a kind of dark, comedy and I highly reccomend it. When we first see Lee he looks a lot like Kenny, very clean cut. Later in the film he looks remarkably like Colin Matthews - with the distinctive odd, ruffled hair that Paul Reynolds had in later PGs. Makes a change from the scuzzy long haired thug he played in TRIAL AND RETRIBUTION. The film, I suspect, will not be easy to find overseas. It recieved a tiny cinema release in the UK, and I doubt that it will be released theatrically in the US or Australia. Lee will next be seen in METROLAND with Emily Watson and Christian Bale. This film will get a much wider release, I'm sure. ---------------------- Regards Vince Deehan Wembley London http://www.deehan.demon.co.uk -- T H E P R E S S G A N G M A I L I N G L I S T By default, pressing 'reply' will send mail back to the list, not to the author of the message you're replying to.
