Well done to Matt on this impressive showing. It's unfortunate that the PG site was up against Classic UK Kids TV really, as that was always likely to be the winner of that particular category (although I personally much prefer pressgang.yoyo.org - it got my vote!) - general interest sites always tend to catch more appeal in these things than our specialist sites (take it from one who knows). Still, giant killings can sometimes occur, as the below shows: > Congrats also to Ade Petford who's Kaleidoscope site won the award for > "Best UKTV Anorak / Techie Site". Thanks a lot for that. I must confess I was absolutely staggered by this result given both our category competitors (all absolutely cutting edge sites) and the fact we were up against last year's overall winner of the UKTV Site of the Year title. In 1996 we came second for general interest, but 625: Andrew Wiseman's Television Room won both the category and the title (and rightfully so) by a wide margin. This year we had a convincing victory with 176 votes, forty votes ahead of the second-placed site. In the overall rankings we came in at thirteenth place and were placed at fourteenth position in the "Overall Favourite Website" category. So - Classic Kids TV better watch out in next year's poll if the PG site follows that pattern! I think I was almost as surprised to win as Julia obviously was at last night's British Comedy Awards where Faith in the Future clinched the "Best ITV Sitcom" title. As far as I recall, there weren't any other ITV sitcoms nominated (probably the only way that abominable programme *could* win anything!), but it was nice to see the grin on her face anyway! Right, I must get on with some site updates now! Ade </de-lurk> _| Adrian E.C.
