I think the whole idea behind Spikes initial move back to America (post-season 2) was that Spike wanted commitment - or at least to know that Lynda wanted to take the relationship seriously. >And as for their fight scenes in the fifth season, >particularly "There Are Crocodiles"....well, you be the judge if that's >two people in love or not. I agree that the fights in season five were more frequently ideological (as opposed to flirtatious/fun/frivolous) than in previous series, eg the argument about the "Mr Winters" story and about "Whatsisname" in "T.A.C.", but I think that, while Spike was certainly angry about Lynda's reaction to <the events of T.A.C.>, it didn't necessarily mean a complete breakdown of the relationship (not in the long term, anyway) - and I think Spike covered the matter of whether or not he loved her in the last scene of "T.A.C." (although I know there are list members who would argue this point on the grounds of the debatable nature of the last scene (sorry if I'm sounding cryptic, I'm trying to avoid spoiling :) ). ...and don't we all argue sometimes with people close to us despite (or because of) loving them... ;) Murraqy ********************************************************************** * Murray Head - muzza@omen.net.au * *Also at: muzza@tartarus.uwa.edu.au(Uni of Western Australia) * * mhead@anhb.uwa.edu.au (Dept of Anatomy and Human Biology) * *>>>>>>>>>>>>> http://www.omen.net.au/~muzza/ <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< * *********************************************************************** -- T H E P R E S S G A N G M A I L I N G L I S T By default, pressing 'reply' will send mail back to the list, not to the author of the message you're replying to.
