I just watched "A Night In" (just finished this very minute) and I'm sure that the doors (to the outside, not the newsroom) were at the end of the corridor - behind Spike and Lynda when they almost kissed. Mind you, that was series two, not one... One thing I definitely noticed was that when "Mr. Clown" entered the newsroom in "The Last Word" part one ( I think that's where I'm remembering it from) - there were a few steps leading down (along the side of the building) to the main corridor from the street (well, you don't actually see the steps, but...). Maybe this is a result of subsidence, or Lynda's attempt to take the newsroom into the pits of hell ;) Actually, on the subject of doors - I vaguely remember being bewildered by an entrance Tiddler made in (I think) "The Rest Of My Life". She seemed to come in from a door which was in the corner of the newsroom between the darkroom (to the right of Lynda's desk as you're looking at it for those who have missed darkroom references) and the newsroom/corridor wall. I'm sure I had a look for the door in other (series 2) eps - it was there, but it seemed to be unused.
