In "Holding On" they are talking (on the airplane, I think but maybe not --
that's difintely the epsiode though) and Zoe says something to the effect of
"Spike, in all the time I have known you, you....." Therefore they have
known each other before. I have always assumed that Zoe was his
on-again-off-again girlfriend/friend whenever he was in the States. She was
too eager to get out of England to have known Spike from there.
As for someone comment about Zoe's big hair and her clothes sense, may I
offer you that the show was taped in the mid to late 80's when lots of people
wore lots of crazy Flashdancey stuff. I personally can look back at old
photos and cringe. Wasn't Zoe from California?? (Not exactly a place
internationally known for sedate fashions....)
