>For my money, the scene in S5 that defines the state of Lynda and Spike is in >WINDFALL where Lynda is seriously messing with Julie's head over the phone and >the camera pans back to reveal Spike in the background grinning at her. They >may fight, >and loudly when they do, but these are two people who are very much in love, >and are very much in on a good laugh. Which for a character whose lack of >humorous intent was a running gag in the early years, is a real leap forward. I totally agree - that sort of sentiment comes across a few times - in the end of "Food, Love and Insecurity"; the "it's my birthday" scene in "Head and Heart" etc. Speaking of the birthday in Head and Heart - doncha love Lynda's appraisal of the party "whistles" - "maybe they could get that noise fixed?".
