It's certainly one of my favourites - it shows a great ability of Stephen Moffat's to change the pace both within and between shows. As a person who is usually less concerned with where the plot is going than how it gets there, this ep is a great showcase of writing talent. The various subplots (Colin's attempts to avoid providing the Gazette accounts, Sam trying to sack Claire (and flirting with Kenny in the process!), Tiddler and Spike's encounter with the rather difficult children's book writer Virginia Hume, Spike's attempts to get a date with Yvonne Morley etc) all run excellently in parallel (or not quite parallel perhaps, as they all make contact somewhere) and the acting talent is superb from both regulars and guests. >I was so surprised when >Lynda kissed Spike in front of the girl who thought he was obsessed >with her. Really? I thought it was the girl who thought Spike was obsessed with her who kissed him. :) > Thank god for reruns! ...and videotape!
