Okay, first the good news - at the second PG convention I spent copious quantities of my meagre student grant on a copy of the script for "There Are Crocodiles." Now the bad news, it's somewhere at home (ie, my parents' place), I'm somewhere in London (ie, university), and I'm not 100% sure where my series 5 tape is (knowing what I do with videos, it's probably propping up a table or keeping open a door). When I can get all three items together in the same room at the same time, I'll try to work out a decent answer to the question (unless anyone with similar script access fancies trying to beat me to it?), but for the record I think most of the cuts are pretty cosmetic (which is even assuming that everything in the script was filmed) - it's all just character stuff, Lynda/Julie bitch scenes, Lynda/Spike stuff, Frazz/football material, nothing that really crucially affects the story. Which is somewhat surprising, as in the PG Prog Guide, Sandra Hastie is quoted as saying that there's no flab in the full length version, nothing irrelevant. I don't think I could in all honesty bring myself to agree with that statement. But it'd be nice to see the full length version. Apparently all the material that waa ever filmed for PG still exists, so why don't we, the fans, club together and *persuade* some nice video company to release extended versions? If "Star Wars" and "Red Dwarf" can get away with it, I think PG should be allowed to. Just think, they could CGI Sarah so that she has exactly the same haircut in every episode, and not that horrible spiky thing from series 3 and 4! they could even touch up the newsroom corridor so that nobody is seen walking down it into a blank wall, and the doors open the same waay and have the sign on the same side every time. The possibilities are endless, and I'm waffling so I'll just push off. Love from the land of cycling goldfish, David. PS:- All that crap about CGI stuff is *deliberate rubbish*! Got that? But as for extended versions of the episodes - well, okay, PG doesn't quite have the same market as RD & SW, but how about it?
