Hmm, I can't see you on the list list (if you see what I mean; I'll add you manually in a minute. > after reading all the archives. Well, getting this list going hopefully has contributed to that - hopefully we can pool our resources and make the Web site an even better joint effort. > Im 21 (I'll be 22 on 24th April) female living in Sydney (yes another > Aussie PG fan I hear you all cry). Well, someone was asking about the breakdown of subscribers, and here it is: Aussies: 19 Brits: 13 Canadian: 2 German: 1 (Hi Erik) Others: 7 "Other" means addresses with ambiguous endings (excluding the people and domains that I know). So there you have it, conclusive proof that you Aussies dominate the PG fan-world. :-) I think this is because (a) PG had a better time slot in Australia, and (b) Aussies seem to be more discerning in what they watch! Doesn't stop you lot churning out crappy soaps like Neighbours and Home and Away but we'll forgive you for that. :-) > I have every episode of Press Gang on tape - in my opion its the best > tv show the UK ever produced. I can empathise with that; my GCSEs got in the way of Series Three and my A Levels finished on a PG day if I remember right! Luckily I got home in time for PG every time (don't ask about the exams :-) ) > (Note this was before PG had a cult following, in fact > at the time I only knew 4 other people who watched it). In fact the > cliffhanger of Day Dreams was just about all I could stand and it was a > very long and painful wait for the final series (6) in 1995 (although it > was worth the wait). That must've been agonising for you lot. I thought the series had ended with "Day Dreams" at the end of Series 4; it kind of wrapped (most) things up neatly for me. I only found out about Series Five a few days before it happened (when the new Radio Times came out) so seeing it was a nice bonus, though I did think it'd finished... > My favourite episodes are At Last a Dragon (casue we get to see another > side to Lynda), The Last Word, Friendly Fire and There Are Crocodiles > (for its sheer brilliance). Although I dont think there was such a thing > as a bad episode - and Ive seen them all hundreds of times. Hrm, well I'm not too keen on "Windfall" - the 100 pound note stuff / Colin killing Lynda's pets etc is funny, but the episode as a whole I'm not too keen on. There are others too, but it's been so long since I saw them it'd be unfair for me to slag them off :-) > Everytime I > watch them I notice something new and the intellegence of the humour and > strength of characters means it never gets old. Where else do you find > characters which complement each other so perfectly. Anyone want to talk > favourite scenes ?????? "At Last A Dragon" (watched it on Sunday) - the final scene. They kiss, and we all thought that was the end of the episode, but there's the magical moment with the closing gate and the streetlight, y'know what I mean... faaaaantastic. "Head And Heart" - the first scene (after the titles) when Colin tries to chat up the school secretary... "It not that I think you're dying, though if you *were* dying, I'd go to your funeral. I'd love to!" I don't roll around the floor laughing very often but I did then... > It always amazes me how many closet PG fans there are out there - at a > recent party I met 4 new people who share my PG obsession and likewise > have episodes on tape. That's what I *love* about the Internet; it gets people with a common interetst together like nothing else. And the computer interface lowers people's inhibitions which helps (most of the time). Ramble ramble ramble. :-) > Widya I'd really love a copy of you PG quotes file (so please mail me a > copy when you get a chance) but might I suggest that you ask Matt > Saunders > to post it somewhere on the PG web site for everyone. The copyright issue is a bit of a problem here; we don't want to get sued! If Widya wants, I'll HTMLise them and put them up, but we'd both be taking a risk. > Hey, is there anyone one on this list who has some PG fan fic they want > to > share - Im sure some of you could write some pretty great stuff if you > put > your mind to it (I'd do it my self but could hardly find time to write > this mail). I believe there is some fan-fic floating around; was there any in the "Breakfast at Czar's" fanzine (anyone)? > Also does anyone have any good .wav files from PG they could mail me ??? You'll find the theme tune on the Web site (more copyright violation I think). Some day I'll get around to sampling some classic quotes. > One last bit of trivia - Has anyone else noticed Dexter Fletcher on the > video > sequence of the Batman Ride at Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast > ??? > It amazing where these PG people pop up ! Yeah, we've got Paul Reynolds doing advert voiceovers on British TV - it's a shame that that probably means he can't get any acting work...
