The trailer for "There Are Crocodiles" was even more ambiguous, not least because the episode itself was very surreal. In the trailer the most tantalizing part was a slow-motion shot of Frazz shouting and looking very angry, while the voiceover was of Lynda talking mysteriously of crocodiles ! I spent the whole week trying to fathom what could be going on. I had a similar experience with "There are crocodiles" too... I knew that it was the last episode ever, so I was basically sitting in front of the TV five minutes early, waiting happily in anticipation and just as I was expecting the delightful theme song, a Warning flashes up. You know like "Warning, the following program ...blah blah" and I was just sitting there thinking..."what the hell ??? Am I on the right channel here ?" Then I realised it was 'cause of the drugs thing. As for the ending... Being the pessimist that I am (of course) I was convinced Spike was dreaming [Lynda's escape]. I spent the next day very upset. I was also convinced that in the last scene ( when Lynda was in Spikes room), Lynda was transparent - (do I hear all your cackling laughter ?) I swear you could see the blinds through her... But then again, that might've been because we don't get ABC very well... Anyway, thing is, I was so upset I called all my friends to discuss it and in the end they were able to convince me that Lynda would not allow herself to die, so I was able to smile again - I'm not kidding. So, do we all reckon Lynda lived ? (or are we not allowed to discuss this because.....because.... we might be spoiling it for everyone ?) Favourtie Scenes : "Going Back To Jaspar Street": When the infant Lynda Day tells the old lady that Kenny "follows me, he *always* follows me" and we cut to the teenage Lynda being followed by good , old Kenny ! That(above) is one of my favourite scenes too... I guess you kind of expect him to be there, but just the way that it was done.... Also in "Quarter to Midnight" (?) when Julie and Spike tells Lynda to ring Colin's phone if she is in trouble. SO she does and Colin who thinks someone is out to get him flies out of the news room. Of course, I also love the scene in "holding On" (?) when Lynda is behind the couch and Spike's attempting to convince Zoe (?) that nothings wrong with his hand. I would like to expand on the above and tell you ALL my favourite scenes except I have trouble remembering episode names, let alone scenes ! By the way, does anyone else on the list think that Spike and Harry Connick Jr look alike ? Or is it just me and my sister ? Anyway, gotta go.
