Another Mailboxer is on this list!! Simon: Hi, I'm a semi regular Mailboxer, called "Osu", or "Osu, Dundee". i was on last week sometime. I sent Mailbox a message about Press Gang ages ago saying how brilliant it was! Everyone: Hi! I'm Dawn Garden, known on Mailbox and variuos newsgroups as Osu. I'm 21, and I live in Scotland. I have loved Press Gang from the early days on CITV. I remember the first episode that really got me interested was Monday, Tuesday, and then I loved Shouldn't I Be Taller?, and was annoyed I'd got into it when the series was ending. I taped series two and was completely hooked! At the end of series two, I seem to recall there was some doubt as to whether there would be another series, and I was so distraught that i got up a petition at my school, and had about 50 names on it, demanding that a new series be made! I think I sent it off to Central TV. I have four Press Gang books (was that all there were?), and still have my press cuttings and tv interviews on tape. I recently watched my tapes of all the episodes after not watching them for a year or so, and I released that no matter how much time passes, this is still an excellent series, it is brilliantly written, and was wasted by ITV showing it in a kids slot. I'm sure it would have done well in a more adult time slot. When you compare it to the other "Teen" programmes that are on Nickelodean, it makes you think why the Americans even bother (no offence to any Americans, but most of your teen shows pale into insignificance next to Press Gang). Favourite episode? Hmm...difficult, I'd say probably At Last A Dragon (old romantic that I am) and The Big Hello is sooo funny, I love when Colin tells Spike when they make a film about him and Lynda, "Don't worry, we'll get a genuine american to play you>" Hilarious! And also Day Dreams, the return of Mr. Sullivan, Yeah! okay, thanks for your time! And off I jolly well go! -- Dawn (Osu) Garden "If more people watched Sesame street, the world would be a better place." - * THE PRESS GANG MAILING LIST * * To unsubscribe from this list, send mail containing the * word "unsubscribe" to "pressgang-request@yoyo.org". * * By default, replies are directed back to this list, * not to the author of the message you're replying to. |
