Hello, Everybody...
Having just discovered this wonderful place, I thought I'd better
introduce myself as well - my name's Walter, and I live in Edinburgh -
I work in the library at Napier University (have done since school,
though not, I hope, for much longer) - and I'm 26 (my hobbies are
swimming, fishing, and trying to attain world peace ;-) ).
You can blame Paul Cornell for getting me into Press Gang. I'd never
even heard of the series until I picked up a copy of the Guinness Book
of Classic British TV, which he co-wrote. The entry for PG made it
sound like the best series EVER so I thought I'd like to give it a
shot - that book is responsible for me wasting so many hours of my
life - 'cos I've discovered so many great series through it - the
Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes stories for one, and Callan for two.
I never thought I'd actually see the series until Nick started showing
it this year. Loved it to death, but I'm now stuck at the episode
before "The Last Word" thanks to the aforementioned messups 'cos I
don't want to skip anything. I've tried emailing the "Chicks at Nick"
(sorry) but no reply so far. I've gotta see the rest! Still, I must be
patient... I already know what happens in "The Last Word" 'cos an
inconsiderate friend blew the gaffe a few weeks ago when he discovered
I'd become a fan. I'm surprised he's still my friend, really.
Aaaaaaanyway, better go - there's work to be done. I'm looking forward
to lurking around here - it seems to be a nice place to be!
