Hi everyone !
I am wondering if this is somewhat off topic, sorry if it is...
I don't really know how many of you would know (I guess all those in Sydney at
least would know) of the "thredbo disaster"... if you don't let me just give
you a quick summary.... Land slide near a ski resort village caused two
resorts to fall onto each other. There were 20 (i think) people who were
thought to be amongst the rubble. So emergancy crews are hard at work even now
to find the people. So far 10 (?) bodies have been found. On the saturday just
gone, the workers discovered a person alive. And they spent the whole day
trying to get him out. Which they did.
As I sat there watching on saturday I kept thinking about "the rest of my
life" episode of PG. I mean, the people were saying that they think they were
2 metres from the guy, and I kept thinking "I hope they're not talking to him
through a pipe" and that they're further from him than they think (which
happened to be the case) And I just kept thinking about all the bits of the
episode and kinda finding parrallels to what was actually happening. Did
anyone else do this ? Or am the only one who actually sat there the whole
saturday watching ?
Ok, I just realised, this IS off topic. SORRY 'bout that.
Just wanted to point that out...
Before I go, I just want to say WELCOME to cathy !!!! :-)
Bye Bye...
