I agree that the motivation is to get everyone out, and that the line is
just a bit of familiarity before Kenny goes (she assumes she's not going to
see him again, presumably). I really just put that line in the message for
the text itself, rather than the context (although it is, of course, a great
snapshot of Lynda's loyalty and love for her friends which she keeps hidden
behind the "bitch-editor from hell" facade).
