I just remember the theme tune and the phrases "Showtime, Synergy" snd
"show's over, synergy", which would turn on/off the hologram which turned
on/off the hologram which turned the mild-mannered rich girl into Jem.
Oh, and I remember an episode in which she crashed in the amazon or
somewhere, and wanted to make her skin look darker, so she rubbed apricot
pulp on her face to give a "lightly tanned" complexion. (Oh god, Murray,
don't go any further... oh, what the hell...) I tried it once after seeing
the show - I don't remember if it was apricots or what, but needless to say,
it did not give the promised effect (leave me alone, I was very young and
impressionable :)).
Murray "Sharing too much" Head
Hi, I'm Fiona.
I haven't written before, but I've been reading the messages for a while.
Pressgang would have to be one of my favourite shows. I'm 24, and like a fair few on
this list, look back fondly on the wondrous years of the eighties. All your reminiscences
about favourite shows has brought back a lot of memories. I used to love Jem,
(bursts into song) "Jem is truly amazing, truly, truly, truly amazing..." Can anyone remember
what Jem's boyfriend was called? It is really starting to bug me.
I also found "You Can't Do That on TV" incredibly entertaining. I must admit in my early years
I had a bit of a crush on Alistair. Does anyone remember him? Other shows I have enjoyed
are the Tripods, Flambards, anything Muppets, and Grange Hill.
Bye for now.
