i've noticed that aboriginal flag, too, and remember thinking it was weird.
i don't see why it would have a broader british meaning as wasn't it
invented by the aborigines with red for the earth, black for their skin and
a yellow sun??? Maybe our british viewers can help us?
also another inconsistency: in the episode where sarah quits to do the
writing course at the college and lynda is begging her to stay, lynda
points out how much the gazette has taught sarah. "it even taught you how
to pass your school exams" says lynda, "remember when you used to fail
every one?" but in the episode where colin was selling his exam kits, he
tries to sell one to sarah and the conversation goes something like this :
colin: tell me something sarah...
sarah: I know what you're going to say. you're about to ask how can i be
coming top of nearly all my classes and still go to pieces every time the
exams come around???
i thought a major point about this episode was that we see this side of
sarah- she's really bright and works really hard and does really well but
gets really stressed out, lacks confidence and tends to underestimate her
abilities.....this is, to me, not a minor inconsistency, but quite
important because it's part of sarah's characterisation and then it gets
totally contradicted by lynda later on, when she is referring to that very
episode.
