Ok well here's my contribution.
I must admit that I always thought the doors swung both ways, they
look like the kind of doors that do but I'm probably wrong. Which way
you opened them would depend on camera angle etc - we never saw much
of the hallway in sceries one so the cameria was in a diffrent
position and the director had the actors open the door in a way that
was not going to block its veiw of them.
(I hope that makes sence)

I don't know that the Gaszette changed bulidings but I have this
feeling that for the first episode of series three they used a
diffrent buliding with dark wooden doors but it is so long since I
have seen the episode I don't remember clearly enough. I just
remember think "oh now they've gone professional they have made the
newsroom look more ... expensive, ... professional ?
