Kevin, wondering what Frankenstein he created, responds.....

>>From my vantage point, Colin and Lynda have a very complicated
relationship based on mutual admiration for each other's talents,
combined with mutual disgust of each other generally, especially on
Lynda's part. In LOVE AND THE JUNIOR GAZETTE, when Lynda tells Spike
she'd rather date anyone else in the room, Colin is told to get out when
he tries to enter. While this has softened a little (or Lynda has grown
more desperate to one-up Spike) by UN"X"PECTED, Lynda's interest in Colin
is strictly for what she can get out of Colin for the Gazette.

I think Colin harbors some fantasies about Lynda, and we get hints of
this from time to time, but Spike has little to fear from Colin. Now if
you want to make a more interesting case, try linking Colin and Julie
Craig in the first season. In one episode, you can see the two embracing
in the background, and Julie's not so repulsed by him that she won't turn
on the charm to get one of Colin's exam kits...a far cry from the stormy
relationship the two have later in the fifth season.

Oh, I shouldn't have done that, now should I?

Kevin Nauta, who really should know better than this
