Only on my fathers side a generation back, but I don't think that

Your right, maybe Steven Moffat had some intention of futhering the
story or finding someone for Kenny but didn't get a chance to
becuase the actor left.
For the person who asked the episode that Kenny and the Dublin girl
almost meet is " Chance is a Fine thing".
