Where I come from in the southern US, yes. And I must say that the 4 times
we have been in the UK and looked even the slightest bit lost or bewildered
prefect strangers have walked up and gave us perfect directions (as opposed
to say.. oh NYC where they would send you off to the slums just for the
perverse pleasure of doing it), opinions on a good place to get a bite to
eat or a drink, etc. Never even had to ask. So, yes, I think this was
within character of both Kenny Philips and a well-brought up
gee-my-mum-is-so-proud-of-me British guy...
