Hence the dilemma of how on earth you get experience in a job if nobody will
ever give you any! One of the things I'm trying to write into my sequel of
STEALING EDEN is a refocusing of the Junior Gazette back to its roots as a
newspaper for young people written by young people--a training ground for
journalism, graphic arts, advertising, and other skills. When the series
irises out at the end of season 5, all the major jobs in the Junior Gazette are
held by the same people who began on the paper...Lynda as editor, Julie as asst
editor, Spike and Frazz as lead reporters, Kate in graphics, Colin in sales.
Nobody new ever cracks the circle, and even Tiddler is stuck on the outside
always looking in and never getting a chance to replace Lynda, as she wanted to
do from the very moment she signed on with the paper. That was never the
intention of Matt Kerr, and I've always wondered if he wasn't a little bit
bitter about his great idea being stolen from him.
Kevin, surprised to see that **other** American posting!
