Hi
About me saying tiddler might not have been old enough to use all the time.
The reason i said it was i was not sure of her age and know in america
anyway that if the actor is under 18 they cant work as long as if they are
over 18.
i hope that clears things up
bye chris

Hmm...this sort of follows on from a discussion from about four
months ago...I'm not sure if we ever decided for certain what the
answer should be, but I think that the general understanding was that
all the "older" children are in the final year of A-levels, making
them about 17 at the start of the show, and about 18 at the end of
the second series; a theory has arisen regarding Lynda (put
forward ny Steve Lyons in the PG Programme Guide, and I think
sort of corroborated if not actually confirmed by information in
"Going Back to Jasper Street) that somewhere along the line she moved
up a year (being something of a precocious kid), making her a year
younger than her contemporaries. (Although she'd presumably have had
to have moved up a year very early, as it's clear from both "Jasper
Street" and "How to Make a Killing" that she and Kenny have been best
friends since nipper-hood.)
Tiddler is *about* 12 - much younger and she wouldn't have been at
Norbridge *High* school, but much older and she wouldn't have had an
interest in writing a pre-teens page.

In terms of character, yes, it's probably down to her age (although
it's noticeable that in series 3 there seems to be no mention made of
the fact that she's still at school, or at any rate should be...)
That, I *think* is the only reason behind her absence from some of
the later episodes - the actress was born in 1972, so she wasn't (as
Chris Nolan suggested) too young to do much acting work (there are
rules and regs on young actors in England, but I'm not sure what they
are...)
Speaking as someone who's been a Joanna Dukes fan since 1984, yes, it
*is* a shame Tiddler wasn't used more often!

I can hardly complain...

We were all new to this list once. There's a scary thought.
Luv,
David.
Spike: "Well, you don't happen to be jealous of a girl I've never even met,
do you?
Lynda: "Of course I'm jealous, Spike; I wish *I* was a girl you'd never
even met...
