The easiest way to read the list postings without submitting is to do
just that - lurk on the group, read the posts, don't say anything -
there are plenty of lurkers out there [Hi :)]

If the quantity of mail (as in # of posts) is a problem, you can get the
list in digest version (ie sent out as a single post once a month or so
(am I misleading this poor fellow, Matt?)). I don't know if you can
subsribe to the digest on the web yet, but I'm pretty sure a post to
pressgang-help@lists.yoyo.org (auto-mail-back of instructions) will get
you the instructions on how to subscribe to that.
