Judging first episodes compared to the rest of the series is always a tough
go--obviously, PG got a whole lot better in the years after PAGE ONE was
made. Having said that, PAGE ONE is not a bad story at all. I think it
sets up the characters well, and even the corny Vader scenes are not so
awful. Julia, Lee, and Dexter give good performances, and Charlie
Creed-Miles has his best PG outing here. If there are weak spots, they
come from the way Frazz is written in the first season.
