Speaking as an Australian, I'd like to pitch in with:
I've always been amused by the idea that if Waltzing Matilda was our
national anthem, then we'd be the only country in the world whose anthem
didn't run along the lines of..
..."We are great, we are patriotic, our nation is great, etc, etc"...
...but *rather* along the lines of...
..."There's this guy and he steals a sheep but then they catch him and he
winds up comitting suicide."
