The USA was an evil domineering empire ruthlessly exploiting slaves and
where even free blacks had few rights, and indentured servants were still
commonplace. This evil empire with its democrats and republicans wanted to
subject Upper and Lower Canada to its will and laws.=20
To this end, the evil Americans planned war and were to sneakily attack a
British fort, however a valiant and brave young women was walking in the
forest and saw the Americans coming to attack her beloved country. She ran
twenty (20) miles through the forest and alerted a passing band of Indians
(Native peoples) who alerted the British fort and repulsed the Americans
thus saving Canada from American domination. =3D). =3D).
York (Toronto suburb, today) was destroyed, but the British burnt
Washington to the ground and defeated the US navy at sea or at least the US
navy stayed in port).=20
Thus in the treaty of Ghent (1815) the 49th parallel was set as the
northern most part of the USA and the rest was BNA (excepting Alaska). And
Britain prevented America dominating North America.
