Hello Dot and let me also welcome you to the group, since you aren't in OZ, can I guess that you are in N.America. As a brit who left his tapes in England (PAL format, anyway) and lives in Canada I know how you feel. >She wrote: >>>What happened to the character of Billy Homer (?), anyway, you know, the >>>boy confined to a wheelchair who was pivotal in at least two of the >>>episodes I can remember (The Last Word and the one with the stolen ten >>>pounds) - I always thought he was a very interesting character to have >>>around.=20 Money, Love and Birdseed (I think) was the episode but it has been two years since I saw an episode of PG. It is one of my favorite episodes, as is Something Terrible. >Emily reminded us: >>I had forgotton about Billy. He did reappear in "Something Terrible" (the >>one about the sexually abused girl that Colin tried to help). > >He was seen after that - Spike spoke to him on the 'phone in "The Last= Word" >(series three) - at which time he was obviously not working for the J.Gazette, as Spike hadn't seen him in a while. =20 In both of these episodes he still had ties to the paper. Colin wanted help because Lynda used Billy's special computer skills to keep tabs on people at Northbridge High. In The Last Word, Tiddler (I think) is in Billy's room trying to co-ordinate the crisis with Billy's computer skills at her= disposal. I think the reason Billy didn't want to stay in the show was that he didn't want to become a token deadie (sorry, wrong show!) a token handicapped character in the background with no definite personality. He character was given much greater scope by being a guest star, also he was arrogant and had personality faults (He was a real person!!). I suspect that was very important to the actor who (I am pretty sure) is handicapped. Just my devalued two cents (it could be worse, they could be Australian cents!) -) =3D) Oliver in Qu=E9bec City -- T H E P R E S S G A N G M A I L I N G L I S T By default, pressing 'reply' will send mail back to the list, not to the author of the message you're replying to.
