A large number of people did vote for Kenny in the election, and the context seems to indicate it was Julie's vote which decided the issue, although this isn't explicitly stated. (Kerr hints at this when he tells Spike to be there for the vote because we don't want Colin to get in, do we? Perhaps Kerr had a feeling things were too close to call.) As to your remarks about the vote being between Kenny and Colin, and not Lynda, I think it is a little too easy to simply say "Lynda is gone, therefore this is about Kenny now." Kenny never was one to stand up for the rights of the Gazette staff where Lynda was concerned. Anybody remember if he's in the group in YESTERDAY'S NEWS that's trying to coax Spike into interceding with Lynda for the street reporters? I seem to recall he was, though I'd have to check the tape to find out for sure. Kenny could well be viewed as the candidate of the old order, no matter how nice or how willing to enact changes he might have been. Obviously, not everyone thought that way, but not everyone voted for him, either. Draw your own conclusions. BTW: Natacha, you're right that Julie was only a minor character at that point, but by watching her, you can pick out clues who her friends are. BOTH SIDES OF THE PAPER and [I think] MONEY, LOVE, AND BIRDSEED have some clues that the two may have a friendship lurking in the background at that point. Kevin, who wonders if Oliver may know something about my insomnia that I don't?
