All I know is that some guy (The guy that was in "There Are Crocodiles") blackmailed Lynda to let him be on the writing team, she told him to get lost and she shot himself. Lynda then leaves the paper. I know that I don't know all the details but it does seem a bit strange that she would leave the Gazette, squabbling over who the new editor will be. I am surprised that Lynda is willing to admit that she really can be weak enough to quit just because she is upset even though she puts the Gazette before her own feelings in the end. The fact that the Junior Gazette went downhill after she let her emotions get the better of her is another indicator of why she would show so little emotion when the Donald (I think it was Donald) guy commits suicide and whats-his-name died. Mind you, Lynda's reaction to Donald's death was very nobel considering what he did to the staff and he refused to take her instead of Spike. Just a little point of no relevance is that Lynda promised Donald to get him out of the newsroom in with his reputation in tact if he did not harm anyone in the room. In actual fact he did harm someone in the room - himself so if Lynda had not wanted to save his parents the agony of knowing what he had done, she did not need to keep her promise. Emily Hunt Another point that is totally off the topic: I was thinking that as there are so many Press Gang fans in Australia, if we were to have a convention it would be good if we could persuade one of the actors of even Steven Moffat to come to Australia to present it. We could all put some money together to pay for a plane fare or we could have an auction of Press Gang sort of things. This may sound stupid but it is just an idea. -- T H E P R E S S G A N G M A I L I N G L I S T By default, pressing 'reply' will send mail back to the list, not to the author of the message you're replying to.
