Sounds like a few minutes of video-editing to me, > but then what do I know? The trouble with the opening titles is that the sound has to be synchronised exactly with the pictures or it will look a mess. Also, they would need to do new film captions for the actors' names. And, Sarah left after only two episodes which makes it complicated from that angle too. I was expecting Tiddler to get promoted to the opening credits when Sarah left but it didn't happen - obviously for financial reasons. In the fifth series, they used video overlays for the captions instead of film overlays - this is why the captions on "Head and Heart" look *really* bad... Luckily they seemed to find a better machine by "Friendly Fire". :-) I think the overriding issue here was that PG was shot on film, which is much more expensive to buy, shoot and process than videotape. Hence they had to cut corners as much as possible to bring the show in under budget. These are my constructive logical guesses. I may be wrong on some of this but don't think I am. :-) Matt. -- M a t t S a u n d e r s http://www.yoyo.org/matts/ 0973 479515 -- | T H E P R E S S G A N G M A I L I N G L I S T | | | | By default, replies will go back to this list, not to | | the author of the message you're replying to. | | | | To unsubscribe from this list, mail the word | | "unsubscribe" to "pressgang-request@yoyo.org". | |
