I was going to hazard a guess at The Rachel Papers (was Nadim Sawalha
in that at all?) but then I see that another correspondent has
already guessed at another film entirely that I hadn't even heard of.

I will just say, while I'm on this subject, that Dexter/Spike fans
*really ought* to see The Rachel Papers if they get a chance. Okay,
there's a bit of sex and swearing so it might not suit the more
restrained (do I mean prudish?) viewers, but it's a wonderful film -
IIRC, it came out around the same time as the first series of PG, and
Dexter's character in the film is very similar to Spike - except the
very London (almost cockney) accent. Oh, and Jonathon Pryce is in
it, which is as good a reason as any to watch it if you're *not* a
Dexter fan. [1]

What do I mean? Is there any such thing as "not" a Dexter fan?!

[1] And, of course, Dexter's female co-star, whose name I forget off-
hand, is rather nice to look at.
