Erm...point of order here: I'm pretty sure that Ab Fab series 2 was
made between series 4 & 5 of PG, or possibly earlier; I've a feeling,
although I forget the dates offhand, that Ab Fab series *3* may well
have preceded PG 5, but I'm probably wrong there. Whatever, the film
(and any hypothetical further series of PG) *weren't* shelved because
of Julia's commitments (don't forget, at one point she was juggling
Ab Fab, PG, *and* Second Thoughts) - it was just that the network
bosses at ITV didn't want any more PG, pure and simple (possibly
because they felt that it was treating children far too
intelligently - I mean, heck, it treated them like *adults*
and that's just not on...ooh, bitch, bitch...)
