Hmm - not sure; PG definitely preceded DTDD (PG series one and two
were both made and screened some time before DTDD series one).
Whether PG influenced DTDD or not is debatable; I'm not entirely sure
what kind of profile PG had in its early days, but given Bob Spiers'
track record in TV comedy it's *possible* that Hamilton, Jenkins et
al *could* have taken an interest in it...just a tad unlikely though,
but that doesn't stop me wondering...Nevertheless, apart from the
voice-overs on the end credits (not to mention the white-on-black
nature of said end credits, and indeed their typeface), the whole
"newsroom banter" feel of PG does very definitely seem to have found
its way into DTDD...as does Louisa Milwood Haigh, who is sometimes
the best reason for watching DTDD despite only having been in two eps
(or was it three?)!

Whether PG was *first ever* with the end credit bit, I must confess
to having no idea whatsoever. It's quite possible, but I wouldn't be
too surprised if it wasn't the case.

Outtahere, dudes,

David B.
