The resemblance was just a > little too scary. I hadn't really thought about the Aragon High School bit, which is interesting - along with all the other stuff it sort of suggests that (as someone else has suggested) Spike's family spend a great deal of time moving around. Which is not beyond the realms of possibility - do we know a.) how long Spike's parents stayed together, or b.) what their careers were when they were still married and in America? I've a feeling we don't specifically, although we can probably deduce that Katherine's been in the same line of work for all of her professional life. Of course, the other conclusion to draw from all these slightly skewed American references is that the production team just wanted to make Spike "an American" but couldn't really care less about which bit of America he came from, or just plain got things wrong. Which is a lot less of an imaginative or fun solution, and also it's problematic - after all, Sandra Hastie's an American, so I *think* she'd be careful about stuff like that. But yeah, Spike's definitely a New Yorker - "Well, I was born in New York, two parents, one of each..." Or whatever the line is. And the Rochelle High School thing too. Anyway - catch y'all sometime else.
